Description
Food Grade Dry Film Lubricant for Chains and Conveyors Activate Foodcare Dry Film is a high-performance food-grade aerosol lubricant that penetrates like a liquid and dries to leave a thin lubricating film. Unlike conventional oils and greases, the finished film is non-tacky, helping prevent dust, sugar, flour and other debris from sticking to lubricated surfaces. Designed for food manufacturing, packaging and processing environments, it is particularly suitable for exposed chains and conveyors where lubricant cleanliness matters. It is a MOSH/MOAH-free and PFAS-free, offering an alternative to PTFE-based sprays. What is Foodcare Dry Film used for? Foodcare Dry Film is designed for applications where a conventional wet lubricant could attract contamination or where the component needs to finish dry. Typical applications include: - Chains and conveyors in dusty environments - Sugar, flour and other powder-handling areas - Overhead chains, subject to safe application methods - Equipment exposed to frequent or heavy washdown - Exposed moving components where a clean, dry lubricating film is preferred - Applications where contaminated oil or grease could combine with dust and debris to create an abrasive paste A conventional oil or grease may still be the better choice where a continually wet lubricating film is required. The right product depends on the application, operating conditions and equipment manufacturer's recommendations. How does dry film lubrication work? Foodcare Dry Film sprays on as a liquid, allowing it to penetrate the application. As the carrier evaporates, it leaves behind a thin lubricating film designed to lubricate without remaining tacky. This helps reduce the build-up of dust and debris on suitable chains and moving components, supporting cleaner lubrication and helping limit abrasive wear associated with contaminated lubricant. For best results, shake the aerosol thoroughly before use. Apply a light, controlled coating rather than flooding the component, then allow it to dry. Drying time varies with ambient temperature and airflow. Key benefits of Foodcare Dry Film - Non-tacky finish: Helps prevent dust, sugar, flour and debris from adhering to the lubricated surface. - Cleaner chain lubrication: Helps reduce the risk of contaminants mixing with wet lubricant to form an abrasive paste. - Liquid penetration, dry finish: Reaches the application as a spray before leaving a specialist wax lubricating film. - Suitable for demanding environments: Designed for relevant applications in dusty and wet or frequently washed-down areas. - Controlled application: A small amount can be sufficient when correctly applied. - Food-grade formulation: For intended applications where a suitable food-grade lubricant is required. - MOSH/MOAH-free and PFAS-free positioning: An alternative to PTFE-based sprays where these formulation considerations matter. Dry Film vs conventional oil or grease Choose Foodcare Dry Film when you need a lubricant that penetrates the application but dries to a non-tacky film, particularly on exposed chains and conveyors where dust or product debris could stick to wet lubricant. Choose a conventional oil or grease when the application requires a persistent wet film or when the equipment manufacturer's lubrication specification calls for one. The objective is not to replace every oil or grease, but to use dry film where a cleaner finish offers a practical advantage. Application guidance For effective, controlled lubrication: - Shake the aerosol thoroughly before spraying. - Where practical, remove old lubricant and degrease the component before application. - Apply sparingly and allow the film to dry before returning equipment to service, following site procedures. - Avoid spraying directly above operators. For overhead systems, assess whether a bulk or concentrated product and a different application method would be more appropriate. - Confirm compatibility with sensitive seals, rubber, paint and other materials before wider use. Choose Activate Foodcare Dry Film for food manufacturing and packaging applications where you need a high-performance dry lubricant that penetrates as a liquid and leaves a clean film designed not to attract dust and product debris.
